Acting Auditions for the UAF Theatre & Film Spring '26 Film Production
UAF Theatre and Film invites students, faculty, staff, and community members to audition for The Anatomy of Sound, a short narrative film production written and directed by Taylor Kamrath. Auditions are open to performers of all experience levels. An audition workshop will be held from 10–11:30 a.m. in the KUAC TV studios and is open to all. Please arrive 10 minutes early and check in at the Great Hall before the workshop. The film will be produced in February 2026 and shot on location as part of UAF’s Film Set Production courses. Advance registration is suggested & secures your time slot.

"Four-Thousand Miles from Home: Alaska Natives at Carlisle Residential School and Beyond" WGSS meeting with Mary Ludwig
From 1879 to 1918, U.S. boarding school policies sought to assimilate Indigenous children by separating them from their families and communities. This overview examines the experiences of Alaska Native students educated far from home, including those sent to the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, and how many later returned to use their education in support of Alaska Native political, economic, and educational life. Presented as part of the monthly WGSS meeting, the event features guest speaker Mary Ludwig, assistant professor of history. A Zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person.

"Listening Across Generations: Gender and Healing in Post-Genocide Rwanda" WGSS meeting featuring Christine Kindler
Following the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, public dialogue has often been constrained or silenced. This event examines the use of Peace Conversation Circles to support intergenerational dialogue between genocide survivors, perpetrators, bystanders, and Rwandan youth, emphasizing participatory, community-centered approaches that center safety, voice, and agency. Hosted by the UAF Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program, the talk features UAF assistant professor of psychology Dr. Christine Kindler. The talk will be followed by a brief program meeting, and all are encouraged to attend. A Zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
