Summer Visual Arts Academy
Summer Visual Art Academy is an intensive visual arts program for students from grades 6-12. Students will select their preferred areas of interest and will be assigned to classes prior to the beginning of the academy. Students who wish to focus more time in any area (i.e. metalsmithing) may request full mornings or afternoons in that area. Beginning and advanced levels will be offered for each course.

First Friday: Art Exhibit - Gail Priday
Join us at the Rasmuson Library for this First Friday event! An exhibit featuring Gail Priday who is an artist living in Fairbanks, Alaska. Priday holds an MFA in painting and printmaking from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, an MEd in art education from Towson University, and a BA in art from James Madison University. Priday finds inspiration from the natural world, specifically the boreal forest. Her work has been featured in exhibits, public spaces, and private collections throughout Alaska and beyond. This opening reception will run from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 5, with the art exhibit running until Sept. 25. Light refreshments are provided for the reception event. Parking is free. Open to all visitors.
