Rather than a formal presentation format, the conversation will take place in a roundtable or circle setting to encourage shared discussion and minimize hierarchy between leadership and staff. The session will last approximately one hour and will follow this format:
Welcome from President Pat Pitney and Chancellor Mike Sfraga
Brief overview of the unionization effort and the university administration’s position
Open Q&A and discussion
Closing remarks
We encourage all staff who are interested to attend and participate in this conversation.

Webinar: Out of sight, out of mind? The unrealized devastation from invasive northern pike.
Northern pike are native to Alaska north and west of the Alaska Range, but were illegally introduced to Southcentral in the 1950s and have spread to over 150 waterbodies. As apex predators, pike have greatly altered many aquatic ecosystems. Parker Bradley, a biologist with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, will go over background regarding invasive northern pike and highlight staggering statistics on the impact they have had so far in the Mat-Su Valley. He will also discuss some Fish & Game suppression and eradication projects, and research into how pike move through Cook Inlet.

75 YouTube Videos Later: Lessons learned from creating 'good enough' Extension videos as a non-professional videographer
Heidi Rader, University of Alaska Fairbanks professor of Extension, will discuss how and why to re-purpose one story into multiple outreach products: from an article to a blog post to a video and more. Drawing on almost two decades of experience producing dozens of YouTube videos and writing a successful blog, this session will equip non-videographer educators with practical tools for creating 'good enough' videos. Participants will learn how to identify story ideas, choose between scripted or interview-style approaches, consider their target audience, and improve audio and video quality using simple techniques.
This session will focus on building a repeatable content workflow that helps educators adapt their messages across formats efficiently, while adapting the content for different target audiences to maximize reach and maintain relevance.
The talk is geared to Extension professionals at land-grant universities throughout the United States. Register using the online form.
