Sitka: Sitka Conservation Society Parade of the Species
In honor of Earth Month and in the lead up to Earth Day, the Sitka Conservation Society welcomes 4-H youth and community members to dress up as a species meaningful to them and march in the annual Parade of Species. In the spirit of sustainability and creativity, folks are encouraged to get thrifty with their costumes, repurposing and reusing materials.
Parade lineup begins at 12:30 and parade begins at 1 p.m.
Participants will march from Totem Square in Sitka to the Crescent Harbor Net Shed, where there will be games, face painting, dancing and resources for all ages.
Note: there is an opportunity to make a mask or wings the day of the parade with Pioneer Home residents at the Pioneer Home from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Join the new Sitka Rimfire 4-H shooting project!
Introduction to Rifle will be taught Fridays and Sundays in April and May (nine meetings total), beginning April 10. Fridays 5-6:30 p.m. Sundays 3:30-5 p.m. Youth only need to sign up for one group. Sessions will be the same on both days. Cost $40. No experience needed. All materials and equipment provided. Open to ages 8 and up.

Join the new Sitka Rimfire 4-H shooting project!
Introduction to Rifle will be taught Fridays and Sundays in April and May (nine meetings total), beginning April 10. Fridays 5-6:30 p.m. Sundays 3:30-5 p.m. Youth only need to sign up for one group. The Alaska Range Riders meet once per month, January through September, in Delta Junction at the UAF Cooperative Extension Service Delta Junction District Office, Jarvis Office Center, 1420.5 Alaska Highway, Room 112. Sitka's 4-H Bike Club is a free biking program that supports youth in growing confidence in biking skills and provides them a chance to learn in a fun environment. The six-week program meets on Tuesday afternoons, beginning June 23.
We are looking for a relatively consistent group of youth so we can build a community throughout the summer and improve our skills. This is a great opportunity to prepare for our Bikepacking Overnight Adventure in July. Open to grades 4 & up.

The Alaska Range Riders meet once per month, January through September, in Delta Junction at the UAF Cooperative Extension Service Delta Junction District Office, Jarvis Office Center, 1420.5 Alaska Highway, Room 112. We are looking for a relatively consistent group of youth so we can build a community throughout the summer and improve our skills. This is a great opportunity to prepare for our Bikepacking Overnight Adventure in July. Open to grades 4 & up.
