Community Crochet Project
Learn to Crochet Granny Squares, All skill levels are welcome and invited to participate in this community effort—creating an 8-foot-tall crocheted Christmas tree that will be a public exhibit in Kodiak! New to crocheting? Jill Miranda and Lindsey Bondurant will teach beginners to make granny squares. Crochet hooks included, bring in your yarn stash for a good cause!

Investigating paralytic shellfish poison
Alaska Sea Grant and Kodiak College are hosting a public education class focused on paralytic shellfish poisoning. The course includes hands-on laboratory investigations and incorporates intermediate lab skills. Students may take the class for college credit upon completion of additional assignments.
Enrollment is open to anyone in the community 16 and older, including high school juniors and seniors, and undergraduate students. Participants under 18 must provide a parental waiver. Those younger than 16 may enroll with instructor permission.
This workshop is free and limited to 12 participants.
