Artist Talk with Sinnagwin

The Mesa Community College (MCC) Art Gallery is now showcasing Rooted in Relations: Authenticity and the Power of Indigenous Sovereignty, a compelling group exhibition featuring the work of 25 artists spanning contemporary and traditional mediums.  This free exhibit will remain on display until April 2, 2026 and celebrates the interconnection, strength, and sovereignty that flow from Indigenous relationships with land, language, culture and community.  As part of the event’s programming, the gallery will host guest speaker Sinnagwin (Roger McKinney) on March 10, a professional artist, minister and member of the Kickapoo Nation of Kansas. Poetry Reading with Dr. Laura Tohe

The Mesa Community College (MCC) Art Gallery is now showcasing Rooted in Relations: Authenticity and the Power of Indigenous Sovereignty. She grew up in Crystal, New Mexico, near the Chuska Mountains on the Diné homeland.
