SkillShops Facilitator Training - ARCS
Attend this SkillShop Facilitator Training if you'd like to offer a SkillShop. SkillShops are 50-minute, co-curricular workshops open to students, faculty, staff, and administrators to attend. The goal of SkillShops are to introduce topics to learners and incorporate active learning exercises to engage learners.
This training will focus on using the ARCS Model (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction) developed by John Keller to engage learners. Our activities will include time to brainstorm ideas for your SkillShop and to develop an active learning exercise that addresses one of the areas of the ARCS model.

"Beyond Facts: Paradigm Shifts in Exercise Biochemistry and Their Implications for Health"
Inspired by Thomas S. Kuhn’s The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, this lecture explores how scientific progress occurs not through the simple accumulation of facts, but through fundamental paradigm shifts—changes in how we understand and interpret the world.
Using exercise biochemistry as a central example, the lecture examines how long-standing concepts—such as energy metabolism and lactate—have been shaped by older paradigms, and how new scientific frameworks are transforming both education and health-related practice today. Rather than dismissing prior knowledge as “wrong,” this talk emphasizes that rethinking scientific assumptions leads to deeper understanding, improved teaching, and more meaningful applications to human health.

Join us for a public lecture on artificial intelligence by Jaron Lanier, scientist, musician, artist, and author.
A pioneer of virtual reality and a leading voice in the ethics of technology, Mr. Lanier brings a uniquely humanistic perspective to today’s rapidly evolving AI landscape. His work explores how technology interacts with culture, creativity, and connection, and challenges us to think critically about the role of AI.
The lecture will be followed by a book signing. A selection of Mr. Lanier's books will be available for purchase through the Campus Bookstore.

Humboldt Intro to Trail Running Clinic
This event is fulfilling a senior project for my recreation degree. The event is an intro to trail running clinic with a number of panelist speaking on various trail running topics. This will be a casual evening with no entry fee, pizza, and socializing.
