Banned Books Read Out

Join the Cal Poly Humboldt Library in celebrating Banned Books Week with a Banned Books Read Out on Friday, October 10, 12-1:30pm in the main lobby of the Library. Read a passage from a book that has been banned, challenged, or censored! Bring a book of your choosing or select a book from a cart filled with banned books. Speakers are initially limited to five minutes, however, there is usually time near the end for additional readings. Drop-in SkillShops Facilitator Sessions

Connect with the SkillShops team to start planning and proposing a SkillShop. SkillShops are 50 minute workshops with active learning activities incorporated into the session. The goal is to explore at an introductory level new topics, skills, and make connections with other learners. At this MeetUp, get training and lesson planning resources so that you can offer a SkillShop. Check out some of the Facilitator Resources to start thinking about how you might incorporate active learning into your workshops. These will be available at the MeetUp. Students, faculty, and staff can offer SkillShops. Students must connect with the SkillShops team before proposing a SkillShop or work with their supervisor if an employee of a campus department.
