QTBIPOC Film Coalition Student Meeting
The QTBIPOC Film Coalition (and Creative Research Team) is a genuinely student-centered collective/community dedicated to amplifying Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color experiences through film and media arts; everything from screening and discussing films to making short films and a compilation of work together. The QTBIPOC FC meets weekly and continues to design their trajectory--meeting for film screenings, production workshops, zine making, putting on pop-up art/film events, etc-- which all culminates and leads up to an annual QTBIPOC Film Festival and Zine Publication in the Spring (it will be the 5th year this year!! WOOT!!).

CPR training can double or triple a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest, making it one of the most impactful skills you can learn to save lives in an emergency. If you are planning on going to teaching, healthcare, sport & fitness, emergency response or construction, just to name a few. Having CPR certification will help your resume to make achieving those aspirations easier.
There are 2 days of CPR training with 9 seats available each. One Tuesday October 13 and Thursday October 15. Both start at 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Library Fishbowl. There are two separate Google forms for each. Once 9 spaces are filled for this day, we will close this google form. If you sign up one day and it already fills, please click the other day link on our website.
This training cost $15 for certification fees. Paid ahead of time.

Our Lives are online, so knowing how to be safe is more important now than ever. The campus's emergency management department has partner with the campus's IT department has put together a workshop to do just that.
During this workshop you will learn how to practical, everyday strategies to stay safe online. Helping students and employees recognize common scams, protect their accounts and personal information, and respond confidently when something goes wrong. Other topics include phishing, password and MFA security, phone and device safety, financial and identity scams, and emerging threats involving AI and impersonation.
With the main focus on practical awareness and simple actions you can take to protect yourself in the digital space.

The QTBIPOC Film Coalition (and Creative Research Team) is a genuinely student-centered collective/community dedicated to amplifying Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color experiences through film and media arts; everything from screening and discussing films to making short films and a compilation of work together. The QTBIPOC FC meets weekly and continues to design their trajectory--meeting for film screenings, production workshops, zine making, putting on pop-up art/film events, etc-- which all culminates and leads up to an annual QTBIPOC Film Festival and Zine Publication in the Spring (it will be the 5th year this year!! WOOT!!).

Dr. Andrew Fiala will lead a discussion of the philosophical sources of the American tradition. This tradition emphasizes engaged and critical citizenship that develops within structures of political liberty. American history shows that this has always been a work in progress, and conflicts remain. But the hope of philosophers in this tradition is that despite our differences "we, the people" share significant common ground insofar as we value life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Fiala will discuss some of his recent work in political philosophy, while reflecting on the challenges of the present moment.

Día de Muertos: Honoring Our Loved Ones: Join us at the community Sanctuary Garden located in the corner of 630 11th St Arcata (11th and F st) for a Día de Muertos gathering. We will create a community altar and share stories about this tradition as it is celebrated in Mexico and across Latin America. QTBIPOC Film Coalition Student Meeting
The QTBIPOC Film Coalition (and Creative Research Team) is a genuinely student-centered collective/community dedicated to amplifying Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color experiences through film and media arts; everything from screening and discussing films to making short films and a compilation of work together. The QTBIPOC FC meets weekly and continues to design their trajectory--meeting for film screenings, production workshops, zine making, putting on pop-up art/film events, etc-- which all culminates and leads up to an annual QTBIPOC Film Festival and Zine Publication in the Spring (it will be the 5th year this year!! WOOT!!).
