Intro to Sea Kayaking
Get started with sea kayaking on beautiful Humboldt Bay!
This hands-on course covers the basics of paddling technique, water safety, and boat handling. Under the guidance of expert ACA instructors, you’ll learn how to handle a sit-inside sea kayak, practice essential strokes and bracing, and develop your paddling skills on the water.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to improve your kayaking technique, this is the perfect introduction to a rewarding outdoor activity. All necessary equipment - including safety gear, wetsuits, personal flotation device (life jacket), kayaks, and paddles - is included.

Earth Week Sustainability Mixer
Please join the Cal Poly Humboldt Sustainability Office, Center for Community Based Learning, and the Environmental Studies department for the third annual Sustainability Mixer at Septentrio Winery on Thursday April 24th from 5-7pm in celebration of Earth Week. Scaling Our Energy Future
The final speaker in this semester's Climate and Clean Energy Series is Carla Peterman, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer for PG&E Corporation. At PG&E, she oversees the company’s regulatory, legislative, sustainability, and charitable strategies. Peterman has spent her career in several senior-level government and utility roles focused on California’s clean energy future. Peterman holds a PhD in energy and resources from the University of California, Berkeley, and MS and MBA degrees from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.
