Humboldt Obon Primer with HAPI

Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one's ancestors. We celebrate our Obon Festival in Humboldt Style with a Buddhist blessing, Obon dancing, Humboldt Taiko performance, our ancestors' tree, kids games, and so much more. Humboldt Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity (HAPI) Obon Festival organizers will introduce attendees to this wonderful festival. Fall Day of Service is a large-scale volunteer event open to students, staff, alumni, and community members to contribute to Potawot Community Food Garden's annual "Day of Caring." Banned Books Read Out

Join the Cal Poly Humboldt Library in celebrating Banned Books Week with a Banned Books Read Out on Friday, October 10, 12-1:30pm in the main lobby of the Library. Read a passage from a book that has been banned, challenged, or censored! Bring a book of your choosing or select a book from a cart filled with banned books. Speakers are initially limited to five minutes, however, there is usually time near the end for additional readings. The registration form will be available closer to the event. , Not sure what to read?
