WSCUC Site Visit Student Open Forum

Cal Poly Humboldt students, you're invited to a free sack lunch at the Accreditation Site Visit's Student Open Forum from 12:40-1:45 pm at the Native Forum, Behavioral & Social Sciences Room 162 on April 16, 2026. An accreditation Review Team will visit campus from April 15–17 to engage in important conversations through Open Forums with the campus community, marking an important milestone for our University. Come by and relax! We strive to create a warm and welcoming environment that is equally friendly to both veteran FGC (Fighting Game Community) video game players and newcomers alike. We simply wish to provide a kind and casual community for those who want to relax and play video games after a long week of classes. While we mainly have setups for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, we also have other fighting games such as Super Smash Bros. World War II documentary & speaker

A screening of the documentary film Samurai in the Oregon Sky with its director, Ilana Sol.  Come learn the history of one of the only Japanese attacks on a U.S. state during World War Two and the aftereffects on a small community in Oregon. BSU Cookout

This annual event that is going to happen on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, which is also happening during spring preview. This event is so the students attending Cal Poly Humboldt can take a break from the day to day expectations of student/adult life and have a chance to bring out their inner child. Percussion Ensemble & World Percussion

Toyon Issue 72 Book Launch

HIFF 59th Guest Judge Panel

HIFF’s three guest judges share how they navigate multiple jobs to support their filmmaking passions. This panel explores how filmmakers sustain their careers in the independent and commercial industries by balancing the roles they love with the work that pays the bills. LaTajh Weaver is a screenwriter, director, and producer from Oakland, CA. They were named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film. They have produced commissioned films for The Guardian, the Museum of African Diaspora, and the San Francisco Queer Arts Foundation. In 2025, Weaver had two films premiere on the festival circuit: Budget Paradise, which debuted at the SFFILM Festival and Hold Me Close, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Weaver served as Associate Producer on Earth Mama (A24). A recipient of the SFFILM Rainin Grant, Weaver is currently developing their debut feature, No One Turned Away for Lack of Funds, a dark comedy exploring identity politics and belonging within the Bay Area’s Queer scene.  … Event Title: HIFF 59th Guest Judge Panel: Passions & Paychecks: Finding the Balance. BDT Goudi'ni Gallery Talk: Bob Benson

Bob Benson (Tsnungwe) will speak on visual themes, stories, and history of Brian Tripp (Karuk) work in the exhibition and across time.    This exhibition focuses on the Karuk Artist’s archive made a part of the Cal Poly Humboldt Library Special Collections in 2023. Focusing on the late artists works exploring dimensions of time and place created within and without. Particular focus on his overlaying of personal texts, symbols, and geometric language. Archivists Talk: BDT Archive

Join archivists and librarians Susan Gehr (Karuk) from College of the Redwoods Library, and Carly Marino from Cal Poly Humboldt Special Collections; speaking on the process of going from artists storage/collection to archives at a larger institution. See the role of archivists in the process of preserving artists legacies.    In My Time In My Place: Brian Tripp Archive,  focuses on the Karuk Artist’s archive made a part of the Cal Poly Humboldt Library Special Collections in 2023. Focusing on the late artists works exploring dimensions of time and place created within and without. Particular focus on his overlaying of personal texts, symbols, and geometric language. Tripp’s legacy lives on through his artwork and the Red House People Fund run by the Tripp estate benefitting California Native Artists and Arts. Event Title: Archivists' Talk: BDT Archive.
