What Is This Place, Really?
What Is This Place? Asking Better Questions About Institutions,
This workshop is a gentle invitation to rethink the spaces we work and learn in—especially libraries, universities, and other places where knowledge is organized. Instead of offering critique for its own sake, we’ll explore what it means to re-inhabit these institutions with care, attention, and a clearer sense of purpose. Through reflection, dialogue, and a few surprising prompts, we’ll ask: What does this space assume about me? What do I assume about it? And what could change if we both asked better questions?
No background in theory or philosophy is required—just curiosity and a willingness to think about the places we already live inside.

Sneak Peek into "Space Is Not Empty"
If you are interested in creating social change, awareness of personal, social, and noetic fields will strengthen your ability to do so. In this interactive session, we will explore the mysteries and realities of fields of energy and information influencing us each and every moment. Fields are the spaces in which a network of interactive forces--both visible and invisible--are radiating from sources inside and around us. They influence how we feel, think, and behave usually outside of conscious awareness. Before the session, pay attention to how external circumstances affect you and vice versa. For example, how do you feel when walking in a Redwood forest, or walking around campus with friends, or being inside a classroom?

A Sweet Slice into Self-Care
During this session we will explore ways in which self care can be incorporated into our everyday lives, it doesn't have to be a grand spa day! As working professionals (especially in the summer time) it's important we take care of our mental health just as we take care of our physical bodies. In this session we will each work on a specific "self care pie recipe" which will include different ways in which we can incorporate small activities into our daily lives. Small tasks such as taking a moment to step out of your office and take a few breaths to ground yourself, taking your lunch outside of your office, or calling a loved one during a break. As you begin doing these small tasks consistently they will become healthy habits.

Next, we'll review how the Electoral College has impacted US elections since its inception. Radical Contingentism and You
This workshop is for anyone who’s ever wondered how things could have gone differently—personally, cosmically, or otherwise. Through speculative thinking, narrative design, and playful exercises, we’ll explore the radical idea that nothing had to happen the way it did, and ask what becomes possible when we stop assuming the world is fixed. Drawing from queer theory’s liberatory insights—which offer tools for anyone rethinking identity, structure, or possibility—we’ll map alternate selves and futures, and experiment with new ways of learning and becoming.
No philosophy background required—just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to unstick reality for a while.

Sound Bath with Sasha
,
If you're looking for a new way to meditate, relax, or reduce stress, sound baths may be a helpful option. Participants usually lie on the ground with a yoga mat, blankets, pillows, or seated in a chair and listen to the sound of the singing bowls and other instruments.
A sound bath is different from a normal music presentation in that the sounds are put together in a sometimes unrhythmic pattern to break patterns in the mind. This sound bath will be 45 minutes.

Learning in Spite of Technology
This session is for anyone who has ever felt reduced, distracted, or disoriented by the very tools meant to help them think. Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to cultivate a mind in a world shaped by automation, acceleration, and algorithmic efficiency. This isn’t a technophobic critique—it’s a space for shared inquiry into how we recover slowness, depth, and attention amid constant digital interference. Come if you’ve ever wondered what discipline means when a machine already knows the answer.
No preparation needed—just bring your experience, your questions, and your tired, brilliant brain.

Cultivating a Growth Mindset
“Neurons that fire together, wire together.” We develop skills, competencies, and wisdom by having and internalizing experiences that transform the structure of our brains and the way we think. This is the neurological basis of our capacity for lifelong learning. Unfortunately, limiting beliefs associated with what is called a 'fixed' mindset can prevent us from harnessing our natural potential for growth and self-exploration. To solve this problem, we’ll discuss the concepts of growth mindsets and fixed mindsets and explore the simple 4-step H.E.A.L strategy for turning everyday experiences into resources that foster a growth mindset and support deeper learning and learner self-efficacy.
