Implicit Bias:Undoing Unconscious Racism

This workshop aims to actively dismantle biases that unconsciously influence our perceptions during the hiring process. We plan to cover anti-racist pedagogy, including critical race theory, ethnic studies, and the concept of stereotype threat. These paradigms are instrumental in understanding why specific viewpoints have reinforced negative attitudes toward communities that appear different from our own. In addition, we will examine the consequences of such attitudes, even when individuals in positions of power claim to have well-meaning intentions. To overcome these inherent perceptions, we must first look inward and ask ourselves: how did we arrive at this point, and how can we make transformative changes for the betterment of all communities? We believe that this workshop is a vital first step toward undoing colorblind racism and prejudice, and we encourage you to challenge your unconscious perceptions that may have unwillingly impacted marginalized communities.   for a reminder!
