About Many Moons: Charlie Moon’s mythology precedes him: his image and name live on as the “last Chinese Man of Humboldt County” after its mass expulsion of 1885– and his descendents, known as the Moons, touch all local native tribes in the area. But were there others who survived? With the help of Yurok, Hupa, and Chinese American residents– and framed by archival remnants– Many Moons investigates the ghostly marks left on a landscape repurposed for settlement. As a ghost responds, a missing persons case becomes an interrogation of history-making as Asian community members breathe life back into gaps in the archive.

Safety Week CPR
CPR training can double or triple a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest, making it one of the most impactful skills you can learn to save lives in an emergency. If you are planning on going to teaching, healthcare, sport & fitness, emergency response or construction, just to name a few. Having CPR certification will help your resume to make achieving those aspirations easier.
There are 2 days of CPR training with 9 seats available each. One Tuesday October 13 and Thursday October 15. Both start at 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Library Fishbowl. There are two separate Google forms for each. Once 9 spaces are filled for this day, we will close this google form. If you sign up one day and it already fills, please click the other day link on our website.
This training cost $15 for certification fees. Paid ahead of time.

Safety Week CPR
CPR training can double or triple a person’s chance of survival after cardiac arrest, making it one of the most impactful skills you can learn to save lives in an emergency. If you are planning on going to teaching, healthcare, sport & fitness, emergency response or construction, just to name a few. Having CPR certification will help your resume to make achieving those aspirations easier.
There are 2 days of CPR training with 9 seats available each. One Tuesday October 13 and Thursday October 15. Both start at 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Library Fishbowl. There are two separate Google forms for each. Once 9 spaces are filled for this day, we will close this google form. If you sign up one day and it already fills, please click the other day link on our website.
This training cost $15 for certification fees. Paid ahead of time.

Safety Week- Cybersecurity
Our Lives are online, so knowing how to be safe is more important now than ever. The campus's emergency management department has partner with the campus's IT department has put together a workshop to do just that.
During this workshop you will learn how to practical, everyday strategies to stay safe online. Helping students and employees recognize common scams, protect their accounts and personal information, and respond confidently when something goes wrong. Other topics include phishing, password and MFA security, phone and device safety, financial and identity scams, and emerging threats involving AI and impersonation.
With the main focus on practical awareness and simple actions you can take to protect yourself in the digital space.
Snack will be provided

Functional Needs in Disasters training teaches participants how to better support individuals who may require additional assistance during emergencies, including people with disabilities, mobility challenges, or other access and communication needs.
For Cal Poly Humboldt students who have functional needs or want to learn how to support those who have them, this training builds awareness, preparedness, and practical response skills that can help create a more inclusive and resilient campus. Students learn how to recognize barriers, provide appropriate assistance, and support vulnerable members of their community during disasters.
