Dance Tribute to Gagik Ginosyan by Satenik Ashikyan

Events/Activities Brought to you by the Armenian Genocide Commemoration Planning Committee.  Satenik Ashikyan is the co-founder and dance instructor of FolkLorik, an Armenian traditional folk dance group, established in 2012. Although the group is relatively new, many of the dances they practice date to the first century and pre-Christian Armenia. A most prominent figures in the movement to preserve traditional dances was Gagik Ginosyan, Ashikyan’s long-time teacher and confidant. Ginosyan unfortunately passed away this year in February. This event will serve as a tribute to Ginosyan's work in preserving this dance history that Ashikyan will share with us this day along with teaching us some choreography. . MSTEM Culminating Event

Events/Activities Mentoring STEM Students of Color (MSTEM) is a mentorship program that matches students of color majoring in STEM with STEM faculty to collaborate on a project/activity for the academic year. Mentor and Mentee pairs meet at least three times per semester (Fall and Spring) to build rapport, leadership skills, and work towards the project completion. In addition to mentor/mentee pair meetings, the cohort will have events to engage with other pairs, share progress, and have discussions (cultural wealth, dealing with social anxiety, public speaking, etc.).
