Faculty-Student Book Club discusses Revenge of the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell

Revenge of the Tipping Point is a rich book that allows us to talk about the dark side of social epidemics and tipping points, several of which impact minorities and raise concerns about social inequity.  The book’s themes on equity and minority issues can help faculty and students develop a greater understanding of the importance of equity in the classroom. Faculty will have an in-depth discussion of minority experiences and themes in the book that will allow them to develop assignments and in-class discussions they can use in their classes should they decide to use the book in class.  Students will get to know more faculty members while learning to engage in fun, academic literary analysis and share their insights on minority identity politics.
