Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles

GCC Pride Week 2024, Mariachi Arco•Iris de Los Angeles, or The Los Angeles Rainbow Mariachi (in English), is the world's first LGBTQ+ mariachi. A unique and dynamic ensemble representing the traditions of the rich culture of Mexico, this group was created as a haven for mariachi musicians who identify as LGBTQ+ to come together and perform traditional Mexican regional music in an otherwise “machista” and discriminating subculture of the mariachi world. Drag: A History by Jean Decay

GCC Pride Week 2024, Jean Decay’s Drag History presentation covers various important moments in the 150 year history of drag in the United States. The presentation gives a general guide to understanding drag history and the communities and people that make it such a unique art form. Jean Decay is a Los Angeles based drag performer who has been doing drag for 9 years. On top of performing across the west coast, Jean is a writer and dedicated to keeping Drag history alive. Safe-Zone Training: Level 3

Estudiantes Unidos Virtual 5K

Staff, faculty, students, administrators, and community members (i.e. high school students, parents, etc.) can participate. Participants will pick up their finisher prize at the Student Center. We can make it a celebration with food and music. Participants can complete their steps/miles anywhere they see fit (treadmill, track, around your neighborhood, etc.). They can track their steps/miles using a device (Fitbit, Apple Watch, phone, etc.). To support LATINX students by creating awareness for their unique needs.
