All Black Gala

The All Black Gala is a dress-up affair! The event is an all black attire affair that celebrates Black history and the immense diversity of Black culture, brilliance, and lived experiences. Created through a partnership from the Helen Rucker Center for Black Excellence, Associated Students of CSUMB, and the Otter Cross Cultural Center, the aim of this event is to foster a sense of belonging and to cultivate community with various campus populations in order to address campus retention, progression, and graduation. Campus Tree Plantings February 2026

Help campus in meeting its planting goal (2,030 trees and plants by 2030) by coming out and planting coastal live oaks this February! We're hosting 2 planting days at 2 separate locations:   Feb. 13 - library crescent walking path, 12 - 2 pm, Feb. 27 - retention pond at Mountain Hall, 12 - 2 pm   RSVP on MyRaft or by Google form.   All supplies will be provided, and no prior knowledge is needed. A Silent Voice (2016), Anime Movie Night

The Anime Club@CSUMB invites you to join us for the long awaited, very special film screening of A Silent Voice (2016) an award-winning film directed by Naoko Yamada. This is a film that the club has been trying to share with the campus for several years and we are so excited to finally bring it to Cal State Monterey Bay as part of the 8th Annual Festival of Languages, Cultures and Ideas.   After transferring into a new school, a deaf girl, Shoko Nishimiya, is bullied by the popular Shoya Ishida. As Shoya continues to bully Shoko, the class turns its back on him. Shoko transfers and Shoya grows up as an outcast. Alone and depressed, the regretful Shoya finds Shoko to make amends. “A Silent Voice” is a moving coming-of-age drama that depicts the struggles of adolescence through its memorable characters and beautiful animation.
