OpenAI is coordinating a series of AI literacy and workforce development events across California in partnership with GO-Biz. These workshops are designed to help local small business owners learn practical AI skills and applications. The Plunge 2026
The Plunge is a spirited CSUMB tradition held at Del Monte Beach near the Wharf in Monterey, CA. On the day before classes begin, students gather to take a bold leap into the Pacific Ocean symbolizing a fresh start and a revitalized commitment to the year ahead. Whether you are jumping in or cheering from the shore, The Plunge is all about community, energy, and starting the semester with courage and connection.
Shuttle transportation will be provided beginning at 7:00 AM from Lot 71 to the Wharf, with return service available until 10:30 AM. The first 1,000 participants to check in at Lot 71 will receive a free give away item. The give away will not be available at the beach, so be sure to check in and pick up your wristband at Lot 71 if you plan to self-drive!
