Spring 2025 Marine Science Capstone
The spring 2025 marine science capstone is a comprehensive culmination of academic study and practical application within the field of marine biology and oceanography. It involves a research project or study that integrates knowledge acquired throughout the program, focusing on topics such as marine ecosystems, biodiversity, conservation, or oceanographic processes. Students have to conduct fieldwork, collect data, analyze findings using scientific methods, and present their research in a formal report or presentation. This capstone serves to demonstrate mastery of marine science concepts, critical thinking skills, and the ability to apply scientific inquiry to real-world marine issues. It provides a platform for students to showcase their understanding of marine environments and their readiness to contribute to the field through innovative research and informed decision-making.

WLC Capstone Festival
The Faculty in the School of World Languages and Cultures is pleased to present the 2025 WLC Capstone Festival to be held live in Building 504, Room 1301, Friday, May 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00p.m. An awards ceremony will start at 12:15 p.m. Students earning the B.A. in Japanese Language and Culture (JLC), and the B.A. in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures (SLHC) from CSU Monterey Bay will present their Capstone project work. These projects reflect the synthesis of knowledge, skills, and abilities developed over the course of a student’s learning experience at CSUMB. The WLC Major Capstone courses (WLC400) were taught by Dr. David Vila Dieguez and Dr. Dustin Wright in the Spring of 2025.
