Summary: The Importance of Being Earnest is a 1895 comedy written by Oscar Wilde about two men named Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff who create alter egos to escape the monotony of their lives leading to a series of misunderstandings, romantic entanglements, and eventual revelations about their true identities and the superficiality of Victorian society.
