WLC Capstone Festival
The Faculty and staff of World Languages and Cultures are pleased to present the 2026 WLC Capstone Festival to be held live in Building 504, Room 1204, on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9:00 am until 3:00pm. An awards ceremony will start at 2:00pm. Students earning the B.A. in Japanese Language and Culture (JLC), and the B.A. in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures (SLHC) from CSU Monterey Bay will present their Capstone project work. These projects reflect the synthesis of knowledge, skills, and abilities developed over the course of a student’s learning experience at CSUMB. The WLC Major Capstone courses (WLC400) were taught by Dr. David Vila Dieguez and Junko Matsuda in the Spring of 2026.

VPA Senior Capstone Opening Reception
Visual and Public Art (VPA) Capstone Event is a usually annual culminating exhibition where graduating seniors showcase their final projects, reflecting years of artistic development and critical research. It serves as a public demonstration of a student's mastery in art-making, community collaboration, and visual literacy.
The reception will be in building 70 room 109.

End of Year BBQ and Annual Softball Game
As an expression of our appreciation for all the work, dedication and enthusiasm shown by the campus community in support of the 2025-2026 academic year, please join us for the End of the Year Thank You BBQ and the 17th Annual Softball Game (complete with trophy!). Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Noon – 2 P.M. Softball Field, The afternoon will include a delicious lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixins’. After lunch, join in on the fun and be a part of the 17th Annual Softball game - a Cal State Monterey Bay campus tradition. R.S.V.P.s are a must!
This year's celebration will also serve as a special farewell for President Quiñones as she completes her tenure at Cal State Monterey Bay at the end of June and prepares to transition to her new role at Cal Poly Pomona.
