SUHSD Orientation #2
Planning to complete your service learning at a Salinas Union High School District (SUHSD) school? All CSUMB students serving at an SUHSD site are required to attend one 1-hour orientation session to kick off their placement process. Orientation sessions will be held at CSUMB, Building 12, West Lounge. Please bring a valid TB skin test (completed within the past four years), a government-issued photo ID, and certificates showing completion of the required Mandated Reporter and Sexual Harassment Prevention trainings (each approximately one hour, accessed via Keenan SafeSchools link). This talk, “Dynamics of Inclusive Classrooms, Social Diversity, and Marginalized Children in India,” hosted collaboratively by the CSUMB College of Education and the Library, reflects on nearly two and a half decades of engagement with the questions of school education, social diversity, pluralism, and marginality through three significant publications: School Education, Pluralism and Marginality: Comparative Perspectives, Dynamics of Inclusive Classrooms, and Social Context of Learning in India led by Deshkal Society, a civil society organization/NGO in India. Cafecito con Carritos
The second annual Cafecito con Carritos car show will bring together students, faculty, staff, car owners and the community in a celebration of Central Coast car culture. Show cars, including lowriders, muscle cars, and custom rides, will be on display from 10 AM -2 PM on Saturday September 19th, in the front sections of Lot 71. There will be music, coffee, pan dulce and refreshments. Families are encouraged to attend, as there will be activities for children as well. The show will also coincide with HSI week, to observe the contributions of Latine culture across campus. Show cars can roll in beginning at 8 AM.

Planning to complete your service learning hours within Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD)?
