Surviving the Holocaust - Manny Gabler
Holocaust survivor Manny Gabler, whose early childhood was shaped by flight from Europe and refuge in wartime Shanghai, will share personal reflections on survival, dislocation, and resilience, offering insight into the human experiences behind conflict and forced migration. Born in Italy and raised in the Hongkou district - one of the few places in the world open to Jewish refugees - his story illuminates a lesser-known chapter of Holocaust history and global displacement. The event provides an important opportunity for students, scholars, and community members to engage thoughtfully with living testimony.
