Capstone Scholars: Prague Maymester Info Session (Virtual)

Want to go abroad to the Czech Republic during Maymester 2026 with the Capstone Scholars program? Join us for an info session about the class, costs, deadlines, and expectations.  ISCI 202 - How does access to information differ from one country or culture to another? This program will study information from a broad, international perspective giving the students a unique skill set when it comes to information literacy. Information literacy refers to many types of literacies including cultural, environmental, and technological. Students will have the opportunity to compare aspects of information literacy between the United States and the Czech Republic through cultural experiences and excursions in and around the ancient and modern city of Prague. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn about information literacy and how it applies to your life while also experiencing the unique cultural and historical perspectives within Prague. Capstone Scholars: Lunch & Learn: Kate Bernheisel

Calling all my nursing and pre-health profession students! We have Dr. Kate Bernheisel from the School of Nursing will be our November Lunch & Learn guest of honor! Dr. Bernheisel graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Duke University in 2019. She received both a Masters in Nursing and a Bachelors in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. She also received a Masters in Public Health from George Washington University and a Bachelors in Environmental Health from Colorado State University. Dr. Bernheisel has a strong interest in developing interprofessional community health programs, using social innovation and entrepreneurship to support community and global health, and the use of innovative technology to support healthcare in medically underserved areas. She also has technical expertise in virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and video production. We will be having lunch. Admission Cost: Free. Capstone Scholars: Service: Harvest Hope

Join us on a trip to impact our local community as we volunteer at Harvest Hope! Harvest Hope is South Carolina's largest food bank, providing nutritious food to pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens across the state. While volunteering, you will be helping in various activities such as inspecting and sorting the various donations, loading shopping carts for clients, helping clients shop, and assisting agencies in loading their vehicles. Magic: The Gathering is a trading card game that's very fun to learn and play. Join us for bracelet making for Epworth Children's Home on November 17th! Epworth Children's Home's goal is to provide a place for children from stressed family situations to have a safe place to grow and be nurtured.
