SC Philharmonic "Home for the Holidays"
COLUMBIA’S NEW FAVORITE HOLIDAY TRADITION,
Celebrate the season again with the SC Philharmonic as we bring you Home for the Holidays—our heartwarming symphonic concert filled with festive classics, beloved carols, and joyous melodies. Featuring dazzling orchestral arrangements and special guest performances, this concert is the perfect way to embrace the magic of the holidays with family and friends as we celebrate our community!
YOUR BRAIN ON ART,
Studies show that holiday traditions, including music, can have profound benefits on the brain. Familiar holiday tunes can activate the brain’s memory centers, sparking nostalgia and strengthening emotional connections (Janata, 2009). Additionally, research suggests that the joy and social bonding experienced during holiday gatherings boost dopamine and oxytocin levels, reducing stress and enhancing overall well-being (Dunbar, 2012).
