This special event honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with music, an empowering keynote address, and the presentation of the university's MLK Social Justice Awards, recognizing those who have made a lasting impact on our community. Question, Persuade, Refer Training

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a nationally recognized suicide prevention certification that equips participants with the skills to recognize warning signs, offer compassionate support, and connect someone to professional help. This interactive training empowers college students, faculty, and staff to confidently respond when someone is experiencing emotional distress or suicidal thoughts. Participants will learn practical, trauma-informed strategies to help keep members of our campus community safe and supported. All attendees receive an official QPR Gatekeeper Certificate and digital badge upon completion.  This training date is in collaboration with the Office of Organizational and Professional Development (OPD); please use their website to register.
