The session is designed to introduce staff to the university's IDP, which allows employees to develop a personal action plan to achieve both short- and long-term professional goals. The timing of this session will allow staff ample time to work on their IDP before EPMS planning stage conversations occur for 2026.

Coffee and Collaboration Featuring the Career Center
Coffee and Collaboration is an event that aims to promote networking with colleagues and exposure to different offices and departments across the division. Beyond the Comfort Zone: Navigating & Educating Through Difficult Conversations
Have you ever had a difficult conversation with students that didn't go well? Or have you ever thought to yourself, "wow, that was unexpected!" During this facilitated discussion, participants will have an opportunity to reflect on experiences and difficult conversations. Participants will learn key concepts from individuals who navigate difficult and educational conversations every day. Topics will range from navigating social norms to avoiding "crash outs" and navigating the unexpected. We will discuss the importance of empathy, accountability, and continued rapport building. This session will be faciltated by the Office of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity Team.

In this workshop, Kathy Snediker from University Libraries will show staff what kinds of online journals and subscriptions are available to Student Affairs and Academic Support staff and show them how to access as well.

SAAS PD Workshop: In-House Days - A Refreshed Approach to Staff Development Days
Do you find it difficult to carve out intentional professional development for your staff? Are you letting the whirlwind run your days and are unable to focus on larger scale goals? If so, then this session is for you! Rebeca Greenfield, Assistant Director for Programming and Projects in the Student Success Center, will highlight the concept of In-House Days - intentional days for staff development or time to progress toward your department's overarching goals. We will discuss gathering ideas that will be beneficial for all staff, what an agenda could look like, and how to carry out a seamless day that leaves staff with full cups.
