Unmasking AI Workshop
Unmasking AI: A Beginner’s Guide to the Mystery of Artificial Intelligence
Like the Mystery Inc. crew pulling off a villain’s disguise, this workshop will “unmask” artificial intelligence to show what’s really underneath. In this workshop, we will explore what AI is and what it isn’t, what it does well, what it struggles with, and the ethical questions it raises. We will also look under the mask to understand how these tools are designed and how they actually work.
This workshop welcomes all skill levels and is especially suited for beginners and the AI-curious. Our approach is neither for nor against AI; instead, it focuses on understanding the technology so you can make your own informed judgments about when or if to engage with AI tools. Please bring a wifi-enabled device to participate. Scooby Snacks will be provided.

Forkin' Fakes AI Workshop
Forkin’ Fakes: A Good Place Guide to Photos You Can’t Trust
Everything is fine… or is it? This interactive workshop uses the cheerful world of The Good Place to explore the not-so-perfect reality of fake images. We’ll look at how photographs have been staged and altered throughout history, experiment with today’s AI tools to create convincing “Good Fakes,” and practice techniques to tell whether an image can be trusted. Along the way, participants will reflect on how misinformation shapes what we see and the ethical choices we face when sharing images.
Snacks will be provided — because even fake neighborhoods have real treats. Please bring a wi-fi enabled device to participate. We’ll be using AI tools during the session, but no subscriptions are required.
