HHD Alumni Society Awards
The Health and Human Development Alumni Society Awards recognize student leaders and scholars, service, faculty and staff who promote relationships throughout the college community, alumni leaders in the health and human development field, emerging professionals, and collaboration among students and faculty members.
Faculty Appreciation Award . This award honors a member of the College of Health and Human Development faculty who actively promotes relationships among students, faculty, and alumni above and beyond the demands of his/her job.
Staff Appreciation Award. This award honors one College of Health and Human Development staff member annually who actively promotes relationships among students, faculty, and alumni above and beyond the demands of his/her job.
Student Service Award. The award includes a life membership in the Penn State Alumni Association and the College of Health and Human Development Alumni Society.

HHD Senior Celebration
In preparation for graduation, students need to pick-up their name card in 110 Henderson and bring it to the ceremony to cross the stage platform. There will be celebration stations to participate in to celebrate this special occasion! Please have your ID with you and you will NOT be permitted to pick up name cards for anyone other than yourself.

Sign Language Org General Meeting
The Sign Language Organization (SLO) is a club dedicated to learning American Sign Language and spreading awareness about Deaf culture. In these meetings, members will gather to learn ASL vocabulary and grammar as well as the history of ASL and Deaf culture. All levels of ASL knowledge are welcome. CSD Research Seminar: AAC in Interaction: Perspectives on research and clinical practice
Join us in 101 Ford Building for a presentation by Michael Clarke, assistant professor, in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at San Francisco State University (SFSU).
His presentation, AAC in Interaction: Perspectives on research and clinical practice, will provide an overview of his work in AAC and interaction which has been informed by the principles and practices of Conversation Analysis. This will include discussion of child peer interactions, interactive repair as a language learning tool, the clinical importance of effective description of children’s gaze behaviors in interaction, and the potential for interaction informed AAC technologies.
Prior to joining the faculty at SFSU, Dr. Clarke was an Associate Professor at University College London, where he worked for 20 years.
