The Future of Child Health: Supporting Every Child in a Changing Landscape
Join us for a timely symposium exploring how children with developmental delays, disabilities, health care needs, and early adversity grow and learn.
A panel of experts will share how early experiences, family support, and access to resources shape children’s cognitive, physical, and emotional development. This symposium will explore what helps children and families thrive, highlighting challenges and strengths. We’ll focus on advocacy, structural influences, and practical, real-world strategies to support child health.
Attendees will also have time to connect, share ideas, and learn from others working to improve the well-being of children and families. Clinicians, community partners, parents, policymakers, researchers, and students interested in child health and equity are welcome to attend.
The symposium will be held at the Nittany Lion Inn in State College, PA. Pre-registration is required.

CSD Connections: Bridging Science and Service
The Penn State Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is offering a workshop as a part of our series CSD Connections: Bridging Science and Service.
"The Developing Brain: Implications for Speech-Language Pathologists" will discuss how advances in cognitive science and neuroscience have led to an explosion of information about brain development and neural/information processing related to cognition and language learning and use. This 2-hour presentation will focus on aspects of this information that are relevant to the practice of speech-language pathology including typical and atypical brain development and the therapeutic implications of brain plasticity. Offered in-person at University Park or online via Zoom.
