In SVSU’s College of Science, Engineering and Technology, industry collaboration is one strategy for preparing students for tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities. In the Department of Mechanical Engineering, two programs are key to sustaining value in our partnerships with industry: Mechanical Engineering Capstone Design and Cardinal Formula Racing (CFR).
Capstone Design is a two-term sequence of courses built into the SVSU ME curriculum that started in January 2002. CFR is an extracurricular project started in 1998. Over the years the resulting outcomes have been mutually beneficial in the form of sustained value for our industry clients, private funding for our projects and dream jobs for our students.
