A Day at the Monmouth Racetrack Alumni Outing

Community Engagement Fair

Boren Awards, Critical Language Scholarship, Gilman Fellowship Information Session

Are you interested in studying outside of the country?  Several programs have been instituted by the US Government to assist with these plans. Boren Awards, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. In exchange for funding, Boren Scholars commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation. Critical Language Scholarships (CLS) are sponsored by the US Department of State and pay for 8-10 weeks of intensive study in one of 14 critical world languages. These languages include Azerbaijani, Bangla, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Swahili, Turkish, Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. The All Of Us Retreat is hosted by the Manhattan College Multicultural Affairs office. It is a weekend retreat that is held off campus, over night on September 28th & 29th, 2019. Goldwater, Udall, Hollings Fellowship Information Session

This information session will explain eligibility and application procedures for three major STEM fellowships. The Barry Goldwater Scholarship seeks to identify and reward sophomores and juniors who show exceptional promise in research in the natural sciences, psychology, engineering, and mathematics.  The Udall Foundation sponsors fellowship opportunities for sophomores and juniors who are interested in environmental and conservation issues. This prestigious fellowship is open to applicants from any major, but environmental science and environmental engineering majors may be particularly enthusiastic for this opportunity.  The Ernest Hollings Scholarship funds students in the disciplines of environmental and biological sciences, mathematics, engineering, physics, and science teacher education. Peace Corps Information Session
