“Maintaining the Continuity of Learning in the AI-Driven World”
This is an ONLINE event,
OMSB Seminar - Mariachiara Barzotto | Meeting-Join | Microsoft Teams,
As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes integral to knowledge work, reliance on its opaque,
processes may impede human learning and erode essential expertise developed through experi-, ence. This threatens the continuity of knowledge workers’ professional knowledge. To counterthis, regular knowledge updating is crucial. I propose a comprehensive approach to managinglearning through acquisition, erosion, and discarding. The framework encourages collaborative human–AI knowledge creation, emphasizing the elimination of outdated information while preserving critical knowledge and clarifying AI’s role in sustaining long-term knowledge retention.

“Institutional Trades through Affiliated Brokers”
This is an ONLINE event,
OMSB Seminar - Giuseppe Pratobevera | Meeting-Join | Microsoft Teams,
Using institutional trading data, I find that institutional investors significantly reduce the, trading volume directed to their affiliated brokers after a regulatory change that strengthens, the monitoring of affiliated transactions in the US. The re- duction is driven by large trades, with higher commission fees, which are more likely to be subject to scrutiny. As a result, the overall execution quality and informa- tion content of affiliated institutions’ transactions, deteriorates after the regulation change. Furthermore, stocks that are affected by these large changes become temporarily more volatile. These results indicate that affiliated institutions make costly trading choices to mitigate regulatory risks and shed light on potential unintended consequences of financial regulation.

“The Effects of Regulators’ Press Releases on Employee Whistleblowing”
We examine the effects of regulators’ press releases on employee whistleblowing. As a, setting, we exploit a cutoff rule the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), followed in its press releases about facilities that violated safety regulations. After a press, release, the number of whistleblower tips increases by approximately 12% at nearby facilities, in the same industry. This effect is concentrated in press releases highlighting OSHA’s, whistleblowing program, featuring misconduct reported by whistleblowers, or receiving news, coverage. Further, the effect is concentrated in counties with stronger employee protections and less OSHA monitoring. Additional whistleblower tips lead to more OSHA inspections, more detected violations, and fewer workplace injuries, indicating that these tips improve misconduct detection and deterrence. Taken together, our results indicate that regulators’ press releases enhance the efficacy…
