Storytelling for Your Career: How to Write a Cover Letter
CCD Career Chat Series
Presenter: Olivia Crowley, Location: Thomas Hall Suite 3.30/Room 3.48, ,
As human beings, we are wired to respond to good storytelling. It works sitting around a campfire, and it works just as well when you are sharing a compelling narrative with an employer through a cover letter. Ideally, the cover letter, working in tandem with your resume, persuades the reader that you are the right fit for the job opening. In this workshop you will learn the basic formula for a professional cover letter and hear tips for crafting your message, so it resonates with the employer and the needs of their team. Our Career Chat Series is now LIVE & IN PERSON! Come to the Center for Career Development (CCD) - Thomas 3rd Floor - to be part of these workshops, meet our Center for Career Development team members, and get your questions answered.

NPM demonstrates considerable cross-sectional and time-series heterogeneity. It generally increases with indicators of credit risk exposure, although its relationship with bank characteristics is often nuanced and non-linear. It rises (declines) during recession (expansionary) periods, indicating that macroeconomic factors are most relevant for predicting loan losses during downturns. In addition, the macroeconomic variables most predictive of future loan losses vary across banks and economic cycles. Exploring its applications, we find that higher NPM during recessions identifies banks that subsequently experience weaker…
