USC Symphony Orchestra and Choirs of Carolina: Beethoven’s Ninth
Join the USC Symphony Orchestra, the USC Concert Choir and University Chorus for a night of Beethoven! Soloists include Tina Milhorn Stallard, soprano; Rachel Calloway, mezzo-soprano; Dominic Armstrong, tenor; and Jacob Will, bass-baritone. The evening begins with Aureole by Augusta Read Thomas, followed by Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. This groundbreaking symphony was Beethoven’s final complete symphony and the first symphony by any composer to incorporate vocal soloists and chorus into what, until then, had been a purely instrumental genre.

As a member of the Vista Guild, the Koger Center for the Arts partnered with The Jasper Project to open a new rotating art space, titled The Nook, in celebration of Third Thursday Art Night. This month’s featured artist in The Nook is Christopher Lane.
Artist Bio,
Christopher Lane uses fantastic imagery to turn life experiences into visual stories that primarily focus on people and their relationships with one another. Lane is passionate about social justice to protect the environment and inhabitants of our planet, and paints about both as one can’t exist without the other. Employing flora and fauna, his paintings often feature historical, political, or spiritual narratives as he is passionate about these subjects. He is a modern surrealist and storyteller. Each painting can usually be broken down into several scenes yet are cohesive in theme. About This Show
Created as a partnership between the Koger Center for the Arts and the ColaJazz Foundation, Live in the Lobby 2025 will consist of seven concerts held throughout the Koger Center facility. Join us to experience this one-of-a-kind series designed for audiences seeking premier jazz and specialty experiences in an exceptional setting.
Don Braden is known around the world as an exciting and interactive jazz soloist, a creative and prolific composer, a passionate and energetic educator and as a specialist at arranging and performing classic popular songs in the modern jazz style.
Having spent years as the saxophonist with greats like Betty Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard and Roy Haynes, he has developed an extensive knowledge of every aspect of Jazz performance.

Palmetto Concert Band
The USC Concert Band is comprised of professional and semi-professional musicians from throughout South Carolina, and with members also from North Carolina and Georgia. A majority of the ensemble’s members are alumni of the University of South Carolina School of Music, and more than half of its members are public school band directors. These experienced performers, who receive no compensation for participating, choose to play with the ensemble because of their passion for making music and performing outstanding repertoire composed or transcribed for the wind band.
This performance, honoring members of the U.S. Armed Forces, is at Koger Center for the Arts. Free and open to the public.
