USC Wind Ensemble Wind Ensemble Awakening

Cormac Cannon, conductor Kenneth Green, guest conductor Daniel Sweaney, viola Joel Puckett, guest composer, Cody Campen, marimba, The 2023-24 Wind Ensemble season concludes with a program featuring guest composer Joel Puckett, Associate Professor at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. USC School of Music Professor of Viola Daniel Sweaney will perform Puckett’s new concerto for viola and winds. Also featured is School of Music Concerto Competition winner Cody Campen, marimba. The concert will conclude with Jonathan Leshnoff’s Symphony for Winds, composed for the 225th anniversary of the United States Marine Band. Program: McTee, Circuits, Silverman, Carbon Paper and Nitrogen Ink, Cody Campen, marimba, Puckett, I wake in the dark and remember Consortium Premiere Daniel Sweaney, viola, Leshnoff, Symphony for Winds. The University Bands present their final concert of the Spring semester entitled Three Graces: Beauty, Charm, Joy.
