Luise E. Peake Colloquium: Experimental Music Workshop Performance

Interdependence: The Music of Pauline Oliveros, an experimental music workshop directed by Greg Stuart, USC professor of experimental music, performance, music literature and music history.  Pauline Oliveros, a composer whose life’s work aspired to enhance sensory perception through what she called “deep listening,” which Oliveros began developing in the late 1980s. It was an approach she described as “hear with your ears, listen with your heart” and as “exploring the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary, selective nature — exclusive and inclusive — of listening.”.
