Side by Side Concert: USC Concert Choir and University Chorus

The Choirs of Carolina will begin the 25-26 season with this beloved shared concert featuring the USC Concert Choir and University Chorus. University Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Augusto Gil, will present selections from the University Chorus Fall Concert, "Let the Soul Sing."  The USC Concert Choir, led by Dr. Alicia W. Walker takes the stage in the second half of the concert.  Featuring music by Vaughan Williams, Palestrina, Alberto Ginastera, Cecilia McDowall, and others, immerse yourself in a program that takes the listener from despair to hope, and from helplessness to purpose.  We invite you to join us on this journey entitled, “So I Will Sing with My Voice.” The concert is free and open to the public. Graduate Vocal Ensemble Performance

The Graduate Vocal Ensemble will perform under the direction of DMA Conducting Candidate Brian Niu, in his doctoral lecture recital. The concert is free and open to the public. Admission Cost: FREE. Thursday, October 16, 2025, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. School of Music 206 Recital Hall.

Carolina Alive Vocal Jazz Ensemble

Enjoy a fabulous evening with Carolina Alive, USC’s vocal jazz ensemble as they present their fall concert.  Now under the direction of Lauren Meccia, don’t miss this performance! University Chorus Concert

Under the baton of Dr. Augusto Gil, University Chorus presents "Let the Soul Sing," a concert in five sets exploring the power of music in each season of life. This program will feature music by Byrd, Finzi, Haydn, Hagen, Tin, and others, and will uplift listeners in song and community. The concert is free and open to the public. Gamecock Chorale and Garnet Chorale

Join USC’s Garnet Chorale and Gamecock Chorale as they perform their fall concerts.  Gamecock Chorale, led by DMA Candidate Brian Niu, will present, “All the Earth is Paradise,” featuring music for tenor and bass voices. The treble choir, Garnet Chorale, will sing a work by Canadian composer Sarah Quartel entitled “She Sang the Stars,” along with additional works by female composers.  The conductors will include Dr. Alicia W. Walker, as well as graduate conductors Catherine Whittington and Allison Yablonski. The concert is free and open to the public. Shandon Presbyterian Church, 607 Woodrow St. Columbia.
