Using the Summer for Career Success

Location: Donato Family Classroom (C9 Atherton Hall), All Schreyer Scholars are invited to participate in this career development session focused upon strategies to utilize the summer to enhance career growth.  Reflection on the prior academic year and its experiences , Updating Resume and Cover Letter, LinkedIn , Designing a networking strategy and networking schedule for the summer , Preparing for late summer and fall recruiting season for internships and full-time employment , Utilizing summer to research graduate and professional schools and begin to prepare applications, personal statements , Discuss how and when to reach out to Career Services available through Schreyer and through Penn State this summer , This session is intended to give scholars a plan of action as summer approaches.  As recruiting cycles for many opportunities post in August and have application deadlines in September, utilizing the summer to prepare has become more essential to ensure success.   Please RSVP for… Event Name: Using the Summer for Career Success. Spring Gong Days

Location: Grandfather Clock Lounge, Atherton Hall, Come celebrate your thesis completion by ringing the Gong! Gong Days is when graduating Schreyer Scholars complete a time-honored tradition of ringing a ceremonial gong to mark the completion of the thesis and all the other honors requirements for graduating from Penn State with Honors.  Scholars who are eligible to ring the Gong will receive an invitation via email. Scholars are encouraged to bring family, friends, faculty, or others to join in the celebration! Event Name: Schreyer Gong Days Spring 2026. Organization: UP - College - SCHREYER. 1st-Gen Zen

First-Generation College Students in the Presidential Leadership Academy and Schreyer Honors College are invited to join us to honor the hard work you’ve put in this semester with a moment to slow down, reflect, and create your own zen garden. This is a space to relax, connect, and celebrate how far you’ve come—because your journey deserves to be recognized. Come as you are, take a breath, and leave feeling grounded and proud. Distance with the Dean

Location: William A. Schreyer Courtyard (Atherton Hall), All Scholars are invited to join Dean Mather and fellow Schreyer Scholars in a morning run around campus. Meet Dean Mather in the courtyard at 8:00 a.m. to start the day with some movement and chatting with new and old friends. After the run, there will be donuts and other refreshments for everyone!!! Student Council Coffeehouse

Location: Atherton Hall 1st Floor Lobby and Courtyard (weather permitting), All Scholars are invited to Student Council's Coffeehouse. Come out and listen to amazing talent and enjoy some yummy treats. They will also be saying farewell to all their amazing seniors. There will be a merch sale, so come out and grab some fun Schreyer swag!! Donuts with Dean

Location: Simmons Hall Piano Lounge, All Scholars are invited to the final Donuts with the Dean of the spring semester. Come out for donuts, fresh fruit, hot coffee, hot chocolate, and good conversations. This is a great way to meet other Scholars, your Scholar Assistant Team, and our staff. Spring 2026 Medals Ceremony

Location:  Bryce Jordan Center, Registration: RSVP in SRS to attend, 2026 Spring Medals Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 8 at 4:00 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center.  Approximately 450 Scholars have fulfilled the requirements to graduate with honors this spring.
