This event will take place in LR-121. This event series highlights the Lewis University Institutional Repository, focusing on promoting the Lasallian nature of the scholarly work produced by the Lewis University community. In this session, two faculty members, Dr. Bushra Malik, Assistant Professor of Business Analytics, and Dr. Jerry Kavouras, Professor of Biology, will each be presenting on a recent work published into the repository. These two works, while from different disciplines, are united in their encapsulation of the Lasallian mission, centering "the person" across different identities and regions and how we as Lasallians work with those in our care. The "Ready to Fly" program aims to create a supportive, immersive airport simulation tailored toward the needs of children and/or adolescents and their families with a broad spectrum of disabilities and neurodiverse conditions. The program offers supports and resources for those with challenges in performance skills, communication, sensory processing, mobility, and/or cognition. Students from College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Aviation, Science and Technology, and volunteers from the Student Occupational Therapy Association, Pre-Occupational Therapy Club, and other health science student organizations facilitate and run this event with faculty and staff from Lewis University.
