Senior Capstone Art Exhibition Gallery Talk and Reception
The Lewis University Department of Art and Design is proud to present the Senior Capstone Exhibition. This biannual art show coincides with the capstone course, Senior Project. The course challenges graduating students to put their newly acquired skills and understanding of art to the test by participating in a professional exhibition experience. The group of artists will be here to discuss the exhibit in an informal setting, with time for questions from the audience. Viewing and discussing art is consistent with the behavior of life-long learners. The Receptions and Gallery Talks give students, staff, and the community a chance to meet the artists and discuss the presented work, while giving attendees an opportunity to think critically and creatively about art and the world around us. Spirituality of the Lasallian Educator
Annual half-day retreat experience designed for faculty and staff members to pause and take intentional time to reflect - to reflect on yourself, your students, the work. What insights from the year's work are waiting to be discovered? What wisdom resides behind our individual and collective activity? What can we learn before we too-quickly move on to next year's planning and priorities? In what ways might we renew ourselves and connect with others for the journey? This retreat is designed to provide time, quiet and a community of peers from across the University to relax, reflect and talk in a beautiful, quiet setting. This session will be held at Christian Brothers La Salle Manor Retreat Center in Plano, IL. Lunch will be provided.
Please note: The retreat is limited to 20 participants. If you participated in a previous retreat, consider joining us again: the format will be just as relaxing, and the reflection and community will be fresh.
