The group will cover the 4 modules of DBT: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Sessions will be psychoeducational and interactive. Participants will also get an opportunity to bring their current challenges to the group, get feedback from the group, and learn how to apply DBT skills to manage these challenges. Each session builds upon the previous one. Attending all sessions is highly recommended but NOT required. However, all participants must still complete the registration form below. Participants will gain skills to strengthen social interactions, manage relationships, and build strategies to adapt to changes and manage emotions. All students are welcome! Groups will be held biweekly on Thursdays starting on October 2nd, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Center for Wellness.  Dates: 10/2, 10/16, 10/30, 11/13, 12/4, Attendance at all meetings is NOT mandatory, and students may join at any time. Mental Health First Aid Certification Training (Faculty & Staff)

The Center for Wellness offers Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certification trainings throughout the year separately for faculty & staff, and for students. MHFA is a nationally recognized course that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges. The MHFA program was designed to help decrease stigma around mental health challenges and give participants the tools they need to address tough situations and support those around them.  The course covers: Common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges , How to interact with a person in crisis , How to connect a person to help , Expanded content on trauma, substance use and self-care , , MHFA is an 8-hour course offered over two 4-hour sessions and held in person on the WIT campus. Upon completion of the course, participants will be nationally certified in Mental Health First Aid, valid for 3 years!
