Autumn - Jim Condron, Artist Reception

Diversity Events Autumn, New Works, by Jim Condron Gallery in the Scott Center at Carroll Community College, Opening Reception: 9/30, 5-7PM, Exhibitions runs: 9/30-12/11 https://jcondron.com/, Instagram: @j_condron ARTIST STATEMENT My recent works are operatic paintings and assemblage constructions where nostalgia, remorse, repression, stamina, chance and vitality intermingle with paint, thickening mediums, solvents, adhesives, remnants, wood, foam, cement, scrap metal, plastic, repurposed animal fur, clothing, and occasionally metal, mannequins, and farm equipment. Discarded fragments carry a history and I embed that history, the life of the object, into my pieces. My work gives agency to castoff remnants, bits, chunks, and paint. Unexpected mergers and combinations are coerced into a dynamic visual dialogue. Some of my pieces are in conversation with Sienese and early Renaissance paintings by Giotto, Sassetta, and Fra Angelico. Some confront more contemporary works. Autumn: New Works by Jim Condron

Student Engagement Autumn, New Works, by Jim Condron Gallery in the Scott Center at Carroll Community College, Opening Reception: 9/30, 5-7PM, Exhibitions runs: 9/30-12/11 https://jcondron.com/, Instagram: @j_condron ARTIST STATEMENT My recent works are operatic paintings and assemblage constructions where nostalgia, remorse, repression, stamina, chance and vitality intermingle with paint, thickening mediums, solvents, adhesives, remnants, wood, foam, cement, scrap metal, plastic, repurposed animal fur, clothing, and occasionally metal, mannequins, and farm equipment.
