A classically trained printmaker and long-tenured Professor of Art + Design at Salem State University, Demarjian holds degrees from Middlebury College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work, which often features movie monsters, references to earlier eras of art, and highly detailed, meticulous printmaking processes, has been featured in exhibitions and portfolios internationally.
Often drawn to conceptual joint projects with other artists and creatives, Demarjian established Blacksmith Press in 2021 as a means of forging idiosyncratic artistic collaborations in printmaking and beyond.

Take Back the Night 2026
To bring awareness to April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Interpersonal Violence Prevention sub-committee of the Wellbeing Committee will host a Take Back the Night event, focusing on escalation and de-escalation within relationships. The event will take place on Monday, April 27th at 3:30pm in K-100 and will include self-defense and self-de-escalation demonstrations, resources from our community partners like C.A.R.E. Healing Center and SpringBoard, and light refreshments. Prior registration for the event is encouraged but not mandatory. A classically trained printmaker and long-tenured Professor of Art + Design at Salem State University, Demarjian holds degrees from Middlebury College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work, which often features movie monsters, references to earlier eras of art, and highly detailed, meticulous printmaking processes, has been featured in exhibitions and portfolios internationally.
Often drawn to conceptual joint projects with other artists and creatives, Demarjian established Blacksmith Press in 2021 as a means of forging idiosyncratic artistic collaborations in printmaking and beyond.

AI Prompt-a-Thon
The AI Taskforce is holding its first AI Prompt-a-Thon! Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in an exploration of Artificial Intelligence--what it is, what it can do, its impact and implications. In a fun competitive event, students, faculty, and staff will be charged with creating prompts to answer some of the College's toughest challenges. The best prompts will be awarded prizes and will be showcased at the event itself. Lastly, students, faculty, and staff will be invited to take part in a poster session, explaining how they have used Artificial Intelligence to achieve academic and/or professional goals here at the College. The event will take place on Monday, May 4th from 1pm to 4:30pm, with the poster session and resources tables available in the Great Hall. Poster session participation and all event details will be announced and distributed in February 2026. Hope to see you there!
