Sumood* Through Food: Gaza, Food Sovereignty and Starvation in Times of War
Using food, Laila El-Hadad, author of various books on Gaza, among them "The Gaza Kitchen," tells the story of a people living under severe and incredible hardship. Through the food that the people of Gaza share, Laila El-Hadad narrates the stories of resilience and perseverance in the face of inhumane adversity and starvation.

Student African Drum Ensembles
The McDaniel College Department of Music will present a performance by its Student African Drum Ensembles on Thursday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. The concert will take place in the Roj Student Center's Naganna Forum.
The Student African Drum Ensembles are under the direction of McDaniel music department faculty Pape Demba "Paco" Samb, a “Senegalese Griot,” or West African historian, storyteller, singer, poet, dancer, and/or musician. Samb grew up in Senegal, learning to play the drums, and came to the U.S. in 2013. Samb originally came to the U.S. to perform with his band and, once he arrived here, he decided to stay.
