Common Ground Downtown presents High Horse
High Horse is a progressive acoustic string band blending Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Celtic influences with the energy of alternative rock. Hailing from Boston, MA, High Horse delivers a rollicking romp of great vibes, virtuosic chops, and tight vocals. Comprised of fiddler Carson McHaney, cellist Karl Henry, guitarist G Rockwell, and bassist Noah Harrington; the band draws from their varied musical backgrounds to explore and perform original compositions and tunes from diverse folk traditions. The band has played Freshgrass Festival, Greyfox, sold out the Jalopy Theatre in Brooklyn NY, the Stone Room at Hill Center in Washington DC, and regularly appears to full rooms at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA and Westchester Bluegrass Club (among others).

Juror’s Bio: Kourtney Stone is an artist residing in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Originally from Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Kourtney attended Maryland Institute College of Art, earning her B.F.A. in Ceramics and M.A. in Teaching. Then she stayed in the Baltimore area, working as a high school art teacher and grade dean. During this time, Kourtney continued to show her art and received numerous awards for her work. She also served as a board member of the Clay Connection. In 2018, Kourtney relocated to Atlanta, GA. There she studied at Georgia State University, completing her M.F.A. in Studio Art with specialization in Ceramics in 2021. After this, she served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Indiana University in Bloomington. Kourtney has presented at Mid-Atlantic Clay Conference, NCECA, and the Figurative Association Symposium.
