Showcase is an annual exhibition of apparel designs created by Appalachian State University students in the Apparel Design and Merchandising program in the Department of Applied Design. This event is organized and planned under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Anthony Wilson.
The main portion of the show will feature a series of cohesive collections created by students enrolled in the spring 2026 Apparel Design Studio IV class also under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Anthony Wilson. Greetings from Guatemala is a distribution and educational opportunity pertaining to the Copal AA community in Guatemala. This interactive event will highlight the history and impact of the Guatemalan Armed Conflict and Genocide through student-led research, while celebrating Guatemalan culture. This is an opportunitity for anyone to learn using some simple crafts, like origami of the Quetzal, the national bird of the country. We will also have exhibits of art and research projects by students made about different aspects of Guatemala and its history. Also available will be hand-woven bags (or morrales), scarves (or revorzos), and table place mats from Guatemala; all proceeds go to the women’s weaving cooperative in Copal AA.
