Depending on who we are and where we are from, we think about food differently. Contributing artist, Beth Galton, expresses that "cross sections are not new–a cake half eaten shows its interior. When applied to food items which are unexpected yet commonplace, even well recognizable within our food vocabulary, we move past the simple appetite appeal we normally try to achieve and explore the interior worlds of these products." Artists give us a very different way of understanding food. Photographer Beth Galton works with food stylists to show us a playful new way to look at the food we eat.

Depending on who we are and where we are from, we think about food differently. Contributing artist, Beth Galton, expresses that "cross sections are not new–a cake half eaten shows its interior. When applied to food items which are unexpected yet commonplace, even well recognizable within our food vocabulary, we move past the simple appetite appeal we normally try to achieve and explore the interior worlds of these products." Artists give us a very different way of understanding food. Photographer Beth Galton works with food stylists to show us a playful new way to look at the food we eat.

“The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” was written sometime between 1599 and 1601. It is widely considered one of the greatest plays ever created. The story depicts Prince Hamlet and his attempts to exact revenge against his uncle, who has murdered Hamlet’s father to seize the throne and marry his mother. Hamlet is considered among the "most powerful and influential tragedies in the English language" with a story capable of "seemingly endless retelling and adaptation by others.” Many works have been pointed to as possible sources for Shakespeare’s play ranging from ancient Greek tragedies to Elizabethan dramas.
