Sigma Kappa Sorority
The Clip & Sip event is a planned, members-only social and creative gathering for the Sigma Kappa sorority. This event will provide an opportunity for approximately 60 Sigma Kappa sisters to engage in a structured DIY craft activity while fostering sisterhood in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The event will feature a guided do-it-yourself craft experience in which participants will create personalized clips using provided materials. In addition, a soda drink bar will be available, offering a selection of non-alcoholic beverages and flavor options for attendees to enjoy throughout the event.

BCHS Poverty Simulation
The Beaver College of Health Sciences hosts a simulation to experience poverty. At this event, the students will take on the identity and work together with their family to live a month in poverty. The Simulated "community" is a large room in the student union. Family units and neighbors' "homes" are chairs in the center. The services they need like banks, schools and grocery stores are tables that line the perimeter of the room. In addition to the simulation experience, their will be a group discussion reflecting on the student experience as well as Health and Human Service professions ability to make a difference in people's lives.

Storytelling with a Climate Lens
Join us to learn from climate storytelling expert Anna Jane Joyner about how to tell better stories using a climate lens.
Climate change is happening now, all around us, not elsewhere or in the future. Climate intersects with every issue we care about, every topic under the sun. So, as screenwriter and producer Dorothy Fortenberry says, “If climate isn’t in your story, it’s science fiction.” Including climate in your story doesn’t mean being didactic, boring, or forced. It doesn’t have to mean conjuring shame or doom. In fact, climate change is a generative lens through which to imagine any aspect of a story. It can be a tool you use to add conflict and reveal complexities in character and setting. The result is rich, authentic, relevant stories that touch on something we’re all seeing and feeling.

Exploring Climate Solutions and Futures: An Interactive Workshop
Join us to explore a wide range of climate solutions strategies, from renewable energy and electric vehicles to reducing deforestation and food waste to economy-wide carbon pricing.
Using Climate Interactive’s En-ROADS Simulator, speaker Ellie Johnston will lead us in exploring real-world climate solutions strategies and their impact on global temperature change. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the multitude of actions needed to meet the international target for limiting planetary warming to a safe level.
Two workshop time options: 9:30-10:45 a.m. and 12:30-1:45 p.m.
