The event will feature a guided do-it-yourself craft experience in which participants will create personalized clips using provided materials. In addition, a soda drink bar will be available, offering a selection of non-alcoholic beverages and flavor options for attendees to enjoy throughout the event.
Doors will open at the designated event start time which will begin at 5 pm and go until 7pm. We will be setting up for the event prior to the event start time once our designated time slot opens.All supplies and refreshments will be provided by the chapter. We will discuss topics relevant to the recovery journey and explore them together. It's important to note that while we may discuss principles found in 12-step programs, this meeting isn't affiliated with any "Anonymous" group. All Recovery Meetings are an alternative to traditional “12 Step Meetings.” In this group, you may interact with folks with various pathways to recovery, which may be different from your chosen pathway. This is an open discussion meeting, but you are not obligated to share/speak.

Appalachian State University's AppDocs and Department of Communication are pleased to host the inaugural Emerging Filmmakers Showcase on Tuesday, February 24, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the Greenbriar Theatre in the Plemmons Student Union on App State's Boone campus. Admission is free and open to the public.
Nine films produced by students and alumni from the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Fine and Applied Arts — including narrative, experimental, animated, and promotional pieces — will be screened. The screenings will be followed by a filmmakers panel moderated by Rosalie McCracken, Appalachian Heritage Council Chairperson for the Appalachian Popular Programming Society.

Rethink Poverty: A Simulation Experience

Join the Beaver College of Health Sciences as we host a simulation to experience poverty.
At this event, the students will take on the identity and work together with their family to live a month in poverty. The Simulated "community" is a large room in the student union. Family units and neighbors' "homes" are chairs in the center. The services they need like banks, schools and grocery stores are tables that line the perimeter of the room. In addition to the simulation experience, their will be a group discussion reflecting on the student experience as well as Health and Human Service professions ability to make a difference in people's lives.
This event is open to all students and registration is required.
