Game building workshop for faculty and staff,
Curious about how designing and making help us think, learn, and teach? The Carolina Seminar on Artistic Work in Education invites all UNC staff, faculty, and graduate students to Creating as Making: Tabletop Game Design. In this hands-on workshop, participants will design a tabletop game through a guided activity grounded in the principles of design, iteration, and making. The session is led by Professor Keith Sawyer, a leading creativity researcher and author of 20 books, including Learning to See: Inside the World’s Leading Art and Design Schools. This workshop is based on a project he developed for his fall 2025 UNC course, "The Maker Movement and Education." No prior game design experience required. God’s Not Dead is a dynamic multi-media presentation that examines the evidence for God from science, philosophy, and history. A God’s Not Dead Event aims to bring clear, current, and rational evidence in the discussion surrounding faith and science to students in a respectful and engaging format.
The event uses a combination of media and live presenters, founded by Dr. Rice Broocks and directed by Addison Tweedy, who bring a revolving cast of some of the world’s leading minds in science, medicine, academics, and culture.
