The Ultimate Car Club's Car Wash

The Ultimate Car Club's Car Wash Fundraiser will take place on March 28th from 1 p.m. to 3p.m. in front of Robertson College Community Center (parking lot). The car club will be charging $10 for a car wash. Members of the car club will be washing the cars, and volunteers of the student body at Catawba will also be washing the cars. All the money made from the car wash will be used to fund future car shows, events, and trips for the car club. Location: Robertson Community Center Parking Lot. On Wednesday, April 8, beginning at 12 PM, we will host another Lunch & Learn Webinar on "Spot the Bot: How to spot fake accounts and sort fact from fiction in social media" with Torry Crass. As the former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for NC and for the NC State Board of Elections, Torry will explain how to recognize fake accounts, foreign interference, and misinformation in various forms during this hour-long lunch and learn. He will focus on NC vulnerabilities, noting that our US Senate race will likely bring a lot of misleading campaign ads and interference over the summer, but will also look more broadly at threats and the tools the average person can use to recognize and avoid being manipulated by bots or even drawn into fraudulent schemes. Featuring a mixture of contemporary and classic works for concert band, the series will explore many layers of what it means to belong. The series looks at how empathy and shared stories build connection, how personal growth and collective memory shape our sense of place, and how love and nature thread belonging into our everyday lives.
