Fall 2025 Immunization Compliance Deadline

Academic Calendar The North Carolina state law requires that no person shall attend a college or university in North Carolina unless a certificate of immunization indicating that the person has received the immunizations required by law is presented to the college or university on or before the first day of registration. If the certificate of immunization has not been submitted to Winston-Salem State University by the date of the student’s initial registration, the University shall present a notice of deficiency to the student. The student shall have thirty (30) calendar days from the first day of class to obtain the required immunizations. In accordance with the 301.6 - Immunization policy, those persons who have not complied with the immunization requirements by the end of thirty (30) calendar days will be administratively withdrawn from the University unless a valid exemption exists. Summer II 2025 Residency Determination Deadline

Academic Calendar In compliance with state law, the University of North Carolina System requires students to request a residency classification from the Residency Determination Service (RDS). To be classified as an in-state student, you must submit an RDS application on the Residency Determination Service (RDS) website. You will be classified as an out-of-state until your application has been approved by RDS. The deadline to submit an application along with all supporting documentation for an initial residency determination or reclassification is 45 calendar days from the start of the term for which the student is seeking a residency determination or reclassification.  All conditions necessary for achieving in-state status must be satisfied prior to this deadline.  Actions completed after the deadline will not be applicable to the in-progress term. Fall 2025 Withdrawal ("W" Grade) Period

Academic Calendar In accordance with the 302.8 Undergraduate Withdrawals policy, students may withdraw from one or more courses without meeting the standards for withdrawals due to extenuating circumstances up to the 45th day of the fall and spring semester. A student may officially withdraw from the university without academic penalty until the end of the 45th day of a fall or spring semester or the 21st day of an eight-week block. The student will receive a grade of “W” for each course in which they were enrolled.  Students who wish to withdraw from a course must submit the Course Withdrawal After Census form. Students who wish to withdraw from the university must submit the University Withdrawal form. No student may withdraw after the official withdrawal period unless there are extenuating circumstances. Once the withdrawal period is passed, students will be given the earned grade for the course. Fall 2025 Residency Determination Deadline

Academic Calendar In compliance with state law, the University of North Carolina System requires students to request a residency classification from the Residency Determination Service (RDS). To be classified as an in-state student, you must submit an RDS application on the Residency Determination Service (RDS) website. You will be classified as an out-of-state until your application has been approved by RDS. The deadline to submit an application along with all supporting documentation for an initial residency determination or reclassification is 45 calendar days from the start of the term for which the student is seeking a residency determination or reclassification.  All conditions necessary for achieving in-state status must be satisfied prior to this deadline.  Actions completed after the deadline will not be applicable to the in-progress term.
