Rabbi Walter is the Mora D’Atra of Woodside Synagogue Ahavas Torah in Silver Spring, Maryland, and executive director of the Vaad HaRabbanim of Greater Washington. This latest book joins his Making of— series, which explores the development of core elements of Jewish tradition.

Shnayer Z. Leiman is Distinguished Professor of Jewish History and Literature at the Graduate School of Jewish Studies, Touro University. He has written extensively on Rabbi Jacob Emden and the Emden-Eybeschuetz Controversy.
Jacob J. Schacter is University Professor of Jewish History and Jewish Thought at Yeshiva University. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on Rabbi Jacob Emden, helped publish a number of his sefarim and published a number of articles on him. His next book is a new edition of Megillat Sefer,…
