"I approach the art of printmaking as an explorer in search of making a discovery. Abstract work for this exhibition was guided by the working concept of 'conflicting systems' with a sub-text of 'searching for connections' and develops its narrative through contrasts. The continuing dialogue that informs almost all my past and present work explores the distinction and overlap of our human experience as both 'physical/biological and a thinking/emotional' beings. My conceptual and working methods include contrasts of energy vs. stasis, fluid vs. solid, gestures vs. slow percussive movements and physicality vs perception. The resulting prints are the symbol of an interplay and balance between perception, reason and intuition." (Kathleen Sherin)
Sherin’s prints are unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-pulled pieces. They contain a combination of non-chemically mediated printmaking methods that include her personal spin on collagraphic, carborundum printing and monoprint techniques. …

We all know that the world is messy and often unpredictable. Learning the fundamentals of keeping ourselves physically safe is critical for ensuring a deeper sense of peace and safety in our day to day lives. If you'd like to learn, please join our trauma-informed self-defense class so you can learn to live well and fight The Good Fight.
Topics include mindfulness of surroundings, preventative planning for safety, and defending against a multitude of situations including wrist grabs, bear hugs and head locks. All exercises and drills will be optional, trauma-informed, and slow-paced to ensure physical and emotional safety. Our goal is effective learning, having fun, and growing together. Please wear clothing in which you feel comfortable moving around.

Growing up in a multi-cultural family in Wisconsin, Fr. Tom Florek values the diversity of our interconnected world. As a Vietnam “war” conscientious objector, he taught at Bruce Guadalupe Community School in Milwaukee, where he came to know the cultures, struggles, and hopes of Mexican immigrant families. A Fullbright scholarship for studies in Mexico deepened his appreciation of the rich history, culture and social reality of our southern neighbors. As the founding director of the ICLM lay formation institute serving Latin American immigrants to the Midwest, he participated in the 2007 II National CMFN Consulta at Creighton University. From 2013 to 2019 he taught U.S. Hispanic/Latino studies at the University of Detroit Mercy until he was invited in 2019 to join the Mexican Jesuit Human Rights’ CIAS team dedicated to the “Reconstruction of the Social Fabric” in conflicted zones…

"I approach the art of printmaking as an explorer in search of making a discovery. Abstract work for this exhibition was guided by the working concept of 'conflicting systems' with a sub-text of 'searching for connections' and develops its narrative through contrasts. The continuing dialogue that informs almost all my past and present work explores the distinction and overlap of our human experience as both 'physical/biological and a thinking/emotional' beings. My conceptual and working methods include contrasts of energy vs. stasis, fluid vs. solid, gestures vs. slow percussive movements and physicality vs perception. The resulting prints are the symbol of an interplay and balance between perception, reason and intuition." (Kathleen Sherin)
Sherin’s prints are unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-pulled pieces. They contain a combination of non-chemically mediated printmaking methods that include her personal spin on collagraphic, carborundum printing and monoprint techniques. …

Learning the fundamentals of keeping ourselves physically safe is critical for ensuring a deeper sense of peace and safety in our day to day lives. If you'd like to learn, please join our trauma-informed self-defense class so you can learn to live well and fight The Good Fight.
Topics include mindfulness of surroundings, preventative planning for safety, and defending against a multitude of situations including wrist grabs, bear hugs and head locks. All exercises and drills will be optional, trauma-informed, and slow-paced to ensure physical and emotional safety. Our goal is effective learning, having fun, and growing together. Please wear clothing in which you feel comfortable moving around.

Learning the fundamentals of keeping ourselves physically safe is critical for ensuring a deeper sense of peace and safety in our day to day lives. If you'd like to learn, please join our trauma-informed self-defense class so you can learn to live well and fight The Good Fight.
Topics include mindfulness of surroundings, preventative planning for safety, and defending against a multitude of situations including wrist grabs, bear hugs and head locks. All exercises and drills will be optional, trauma-informed, and slow-paced to ensure physical and emotional safety. Our goal is effective learning, having fun, and growing together. Guiding Eyes for the Blind Puppy Class

For the past five years we have been collaborating with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Monroe Region, to host puppy class here at Nazareth. These future guide dogs and their volunteer puppy raisers attend puppy class in the Shults Forum one Tuesday evening a month (the first Tuesday of the month). Students are welcome to observe, and may get to help out during class (for example acting as a crowd or using wheelchairs/walkers to help acclimate the pups to new equipment). This is the class Orion attended when she was still part of Guiding Eyes!

Born three days apart, with ancestry coming through the same portal of history, Richmond, VA, Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway are on a pilgrimage together, one that began three decades ago. Rochester NSA Monthly Meeting

The Rochester chapter of the National Stuttering Association (NSA) hosts support group meetings on the second Thursday of every month for adults who stutter in the surrounding area. Not only do these meetings provide support and solidarity for people who stutter (PWS), but these meetings also call attention to ways to better advocate for the wellbeing of PWS and raise awareness for stuttering on campus and in Rochester (and surrounding areas). Group meetings are generally filled with conversation around fun and intriguing topics related to stuttering, ice breakers, and celebrating group members. Speech-Language Pathologists, students on campus who stutter, and/or people who have a genuine interest in learning more about stuttering and supporting PWS are welcome to attend! Learning the fundamentals of keeping ourselves physically safe is critical for ensuring a deeper sense of peace and safety in our day to day lives. If you'd like to learn, please join our trauma-informed self-defense class so you can learn to live well and fight The Good Fight.
Topics include mindfulness of surroundings, preventative planning for safety, and defending against a multitude of situations including wrist grabs, bear hugs and head locks. All exercises and drills will be optional, trauma-informed, and slow-paced to ensure physical and emotional safety. Our goal is effective learning, having fun, and growing together. An exhibition of new work by Bradley Butler and Mitchell Messina. In Butler’s paintings and Messina’s sculpture, both artists contextualize a visual flood of emotions, thoughts, and beliefs through their investigation of light and darkness, the known and unknown, and other nuances of human existence. Surfaces that are deep and seem never ending are painted across the canvas, while the changed meaning of objects create a contrast between the familiar and the unfamiliar. Both artists use a personal vocabulary of abstraction to examine the powerful boundaries inherent in these parallels; parallels that surround and subconsciously bombard us both emotionally and physically on an everyday basis. An exhibition of new work by Bradley Butler and Mitchell Messina. In Butler’s paintings and Messina’s sculpture, both artists contextualize a visual flood of emotions, thoughts, and beliefs through their investigation of light and darkness, the known and unknown, and other nuances of human existence. Surfaces that are deep and seem never ending are painted across the canvas, while the changed meaning of objects create a contrast between the familiar and the unfamiliar.
